Next steps to MWE

  • Add one more close-read sentence after the quote in paragraph 2.
  • Tighten the conclusion — it currently restates the introduction.

AI-generated insight — never quite 100% accurate, and probably never will be. Use it as a sparring partner; your teacher's judgement is final.

One link — your teacher's rubric and your work, together in the same doc. Markmate fetches it, splits the pages, suggests which are rubric and which are work, and lets you flip any that's wrong before grading. No downloading, no cropping, no two separate uploads.

  • Multi-page rubrics handled automatically
  • Typed and handwritten work — both supported

What Markmate does

Built around the way real rubrics work.

01 · Input

Reads any rubric

Dense IB-style criterion tables. Handwritten teacher notes. Highlighted PDFs. Markmate parses them all — up to ten photos per rubric.

02 · Output

Levels every criterion

Each criterion gets its own level — BEG, DEV, MEET, or MWE — with a specific feedback sentence. No vague letter grades.

Tells you the fix

Every weakness comes with the rubric line it fails and a concrete rewrite — what to change, where, and what stronger reads like.

cite the SAT-score stat after your claim

Questions

The things students actually ask.

No — and it's not meant to be. Markmate is a second reader you run before handing in. The mark your teacher gives is the one that counts; Markmate just shows you where you stand and what to fix first.

Accurate enough to be useful, never 100% — and probably never will be. AI grading is fast and consistent, but you should still cross-check the calls that matter. Treat it as a second reader, not a verdict.

The ones you actually get handed — IB MYP and DP criterion grids, A-level mark schemes, MUN position-paper rubrics, college-essay rubrics, and custom ones your teacher made in Word or Pages. Dense tables, handwritten margin notes, highlighted PDFs, multi-page rubrics: all fair game.

No. Snap photos of handwritten work (the OCR is tuned for student handwriting), paste typed text from Docs or Notion, or drop a single combined PDF and let Markmate split the rubric from the work. You can even mix a typed body with a photo of the handwritten conclusion in one submission.

Yes. Your uploads and results live in a private, access-controlled store and are only ever shown back to you. Your work is sent to the grading model to produce your evaluation and is not used to train models. You can delete your account and everything in it at any time.

There's a free monthly allowance of evaluations — snap, grade, improve — with no card required to start. You'll always see how many you've used this month inside the app.
